In 2021, I left Los Angeles and arrived in Washington in the midst of a world still shaped by the pandemic. Surrounded by the lush beauty of the Pacific Northwest, I found myself mesmerized by a landscape so different from the one I had known. Nature became both my refuge and my muse. By 2022, I could hardly put down my brush. Whenever I could steal time away from my full-time career, I painted—sometimes four to six hours a day. What began as an awakening soon became an urgency: a need to translate the beauty, stillness, and wonder around me onto the canvas. Painting became the place where I felt most alive, most present, and most connected—to the world around me and to a part of myself that had been waiting to emerge.
